Our Story

A neighborhood bistro built around good ingredients and familiar faces.

The one-page starter's story section now has room to breathe, with the same core copy expanded into a full about page.

🌿

Marigold Kitchen opened in 2018 with a simple idea: that a neighborhood restaurant could be both unpretentious and exceptional. We cook the food we want to eat - honest, ingredient-forward, and made from scratch every single day.

We work with local farms within 100 miles of our kitchen to source produce, dairy, and proteins. Our menu changes seasonally - not as a marketing exercise, but because that's when things taste best.

Chef Elena Voss leads our kitchen with a team that's been together for four years. When you come in, you'll see the same faces. That matters to us.

What Matters Here

The standards behind the dining room.

Local sourcing

Produce, dairy, and proteins come from trusted farms and makers across northern Illinois.

Scratch cooking

Stocks, sauces, desserts, breads, and preserves are all made in-house by the same team serving your table.

Neighborhood energy

Warm service, a lively dining room, and a place that feels just as right for date night as it does for Sunday brunch.

Seasonal rhythm

Menus shift with the weather, so regulars always have a reason to come back and see what the kitchen is excited about next.
